60mm Macro Lens

I borrowed a lens from a friend last night. I took only a few minutes to get some fun shots in my mom's backyard! Yayyyy for spring time and flowers! And yayyyyy for a mom who takes care of her flowers!!! (Good job, mom)

Here is what I came up with!

Little Daisies

Love those daisies! But then, I found something I had wanted to photograph for a very long time! And It was totally worth it. This is what I got...

ChristmasLIghts

I really like these photos. I suppose the macro is an A-OK lens to have! Now to check the price......*gulp* it's $469 on Amazon.com. DANNNNGGGGG!!! Another lens to budget for....I am finding out this is a real expensive hobby!

  1. These are really nice. The tones of the second image are really lovely. You done good kid.

I also have a macro lens on my budget list. If you haven't figured out the truth yet... our hobby becomes a passion that will have a huge impact on our budget for the rest of our lives. :)

Have a great time with the borrowed lens and say hi to Miss S. for us.

  2. Kim, the colors came out amazing! And the angle of the third one, the way it catches the light, is fantastic! I love them all, but I agree with Tim, the second one made me feel all googly when I scrolled down & saw it (googly for me = that excitement when seeing something I LOVE).

And sadly, I'm in the same boat. Macro is on my budget list too. : / At least you get to play with one. I don't know anyone out here who's into photography.

  3. I am apparently a little too friendly with the saturation button. haha! I love the saturation button, but I need to tone it down a bit...I should work with colorful subjects to learn what I need to do.

    Thanks guys!

  4. I tend to get happy with the saturation button too..... : ( can we say OVER EDITING?! I need to let the photo speak for itself. BUT I think yours look great, really-really. What program do you use?

  5. None of these images are over saturated to the point of being garish or loud. When I look at images two and three, I see the beginnings of a personal style that has wonderful colors and tones. I am always amazed at what raw talent you harness to come up with these images day after day. Small refinements and tweaks are all that you need.

Miss S., have you made i in to lightstalking yet?

  6. I haven't. No one has responded to my post about the issue & there is no other way of contacting them. I suppose I am out of luck until someone decides to look at the "About" forum. There was a guy who had the same issue & it took them a month to get back to him about it. Whether or not it was resolved, I have no idea. Pretty bummed.
